CSIFNS Food Science & Quality Assurance Committee is pleased to offer its first " Food Safety/HACCP in the food Industry Workshop " scheduled on November 23, 2008. The aim of this workshop is to provide a solid understanding of food safety and HACCP program in Canada.  Please note that registrations is required for this workshop by November 20, 2008. This workshop is offered free of charge to CSIFNS members with good standing (paid membership)

9:30-10:00 Registration
10:00-10:30     Overview of Food Safety Programs
                                - FSEP,QMP, HACCP, GMP
                                - Definition of quality terms       
10:30-12:30     Prerequisite and GMP
                              - Premise - design, construction, lighting, water supply, utilities
                              - Equipment - design, installation, maintenance, calibration
                              - Sanitation & Pest Control
                              - Transportation & Storage - raw materials, in-process, finished products
                              - Personnel-hygiene, training, cleanliness, communicable diseases
                              - Recall and Traceability

12:30 - 13:00 Lunch and snacks will be provided

13:00 - 13:30   Introduction to HACCP: Team establishment

     
13:30 -14:00    HACCP development            

14:15 -14:30    Break 

14:30 -15:00    HACCP Implementation and Maintenance

15:00- 15:30    Case study and QA

15:30- 16:00  Adjournment and certificates
